2nd Workshop “Challenges for Photovoltaic Silicon Materials”

What are the new materials requirements for innovative solar cell concepts?
How can Si materials contribute to the technological development of Photovoltaic (PV) and support the PV industry?
What are the current challenges PV Si materials face?

These and other questions will be addressed in a two days workshop, organised by ECN, that focuses on the main challenges for Si materials. All participants are invited to contribute; either by giving a presentation (via abstract submission), or by playing an active role during the discussions.

    BIPV workshop

The SOPHIA project workshop “What are the requirements of Solar Photovoltaics in Buildings?” will take place from 29th to 30th August at the CEA INES site, Le Bourget du Lac (France). The event is organized by CEA INES with the collaboration of Fraunhofer ISE, Fraunhofer IWES and TECNALIA.

The workshop shall address the detailed requirements of solar photovoltaic systems incorporated into building structures, with special attention given to Building Integrated Photovoltaic systems (BIPV), (in distinction to Building Applied Photovoltaic systems). Numerical and experimental studies will be presented in the context of these requirements, and will be used to highlight the issues concerning both building and photovoltaic components.
